Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

From myself and all of the cast (yes, even grouchy ol' Carl), may your Holiday Season be filled with laughter (and a few screams). ;)

This just in! Babe and the crew got elfed!

This week's strip.

The truth? You can't handle the truth!

Couldn't resist...

Had to include Jennie Breeden from "The Devil's Panties" in one more cameo.

Some mysteries are better left unsolved.

On loan from God

Poor Cody...
He could see it coming, but was powerless to stop it.

This week's strip.

Saturday, December 5, 2009

The bigger they are, the harder they... are to understand.

Probably the only person that could call Babe a "bonny wee bear" and get away with it.

Slight delay...

Had software conflicts lastnight, keeping me from getting the strip posted. (Non-viral this time.) It's been fixed, but I won't be able to get the new strip in place 'til tomorrow.

*sigh* I may eventually have to dump ComicGenesis. It creates too many problems beyond my control.

See you tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Have a great Thanksgiving, everyone!

Take the time to be thankful for the good things that you have in life.
(Oh, and stuff yer face as much as you can. Screw diets this weekend.)

Throw 'em a bone...

Mmm... turkey legs. About the only way I can entice my wife to come to one of these things.

Endeavor to persevere!

I feel like I'm making lame excuses, but yes, technical difficulties... again.

Complete hard-drive crash - unsalvageable. Had to do a complete system re-install. Thankfully, all comic files were on a second hard-drive and escaped harm (knock on cyber-wood.) Between that, and then reinstalling software and regaining connection to the comic server... there was not enough time to draw the strip. Should be back on track for next week.

Usually Friday the 13th is a good day for me (it is my birthday after all), but I got bitten this time. ;)

Tartan feathered

The games have begun!

Fun fact!: Scotland has the largest peacocks! Look at 'em, dressed up in their purty clan colored kilts, struttin' around for the ladies... they're huge!

Guest cameo by Jennie Breeden, author of "The Devil's Panties". She's become notorious at DragonCon for her kilt blowing antics, aided by a leaf-blower.
(Thanks also to Jennie for her support of budding young webcartoonists. I've had the pleasure of chatting with her a few times at conventions, and she's provided some great start-up motivation.)

Happy Halloween!

Have a fun and safe Halloween, everyone!

Don't forget, "Give a hoot, clean up your loot!"

Technical Difficulties...

*sigh* My computer got infected with some nasty malware/virus gunk, completely killing this week's drawing time. I believe it's all cleaned up now (thankfully!), so the strip should be back next week.

Sorry, and thanks to everyone for reading!

One if by land, two if by sea...

Opening day... always a big to do.

He may not have a hat yet, but they gave Cody a ranger polo shirt!

A long strange trip it's been...

They're finally back home, and back to business as usual.
(Well usual for them at least.)

Their little side trip with Walker took much longer than I had expected.
I'm liking the color though, so I believe I'm going to stick with it even though they're back home.

Ride a painted pony...

...let the spinning wheel spin.

Looks like that ride from the carnival that I REFUSED to go on.

Hide me! Hide me!

I dunno... would I use my body to shield a buddy from a giant eagle?
Actually, I'm dumb enough that I probably would.

Speakin' of friends, one of mine is trying to win the chance to be the official blogger on an expedition to Antarctica. Too cold for me, but he loves that stuff. He's already a dedicated photographer who braves the early morning hours of Northern Canada winters, for that perfect winter sunrise shot.

Check out Quark Expeditions and vote for him to get a chance at his dream!

Ugh! Having to get a second job and *gasp* shaved off my beard of fifteen years! I'll do everything I can to keep the strip going despite the new schedule. ;)

Now that Walker's back at home, his powers seem to be returning. Hard for Cody to think he's just a storytelling crazy guy now.

Grrrrrl power.

Babe points out some issues in the Cherokee legends of old. Was the Uktena really evil, or was he misunderstood and got a bad deal. ...much like the Frankenstein monster. They also had little place for women as heroes in their stories.

If you're the least bit interested... here is the Cherokee legend "The Daughter of the Sun" which tells how and why the Uktena was created.

I'll be at DragonCon this weekend! (Just wandering around, not as an artist.)

Who wants s'mores?

Just a little fireside chat as Walker tells some stories about himself. Opportunity with him for a whole different spin-off story. (Don't worry, I won't drag the strip much further with his backstory.)

Oh! Be sure to check out the new Downloads page of the site! I've put up some paper models of Babe and the crew. You can build your own army! Mwahahahaha!

Friday, August 21, 2009

"Ray, when someone asks if you're a god..."

Uh oh... looks like Walker broke the second rule of GhostBusting. (I hope they don't have to cross any streams.)

Saturday, August 8, 2009

On a horse with no name.

Ok, got a little ambitious with the coloring and backgrounds so it took longer than expected.

Looks like they've got a long ride ahead of them. Maybe Walker will have time to fill them in.

I'm late, I'm late!

Sorry folks! Running a bit late this week. :(

I should have the strip finished for Saturday (or late Friday).
In the meanwhile, here's a glimpse of what Babe has been up to.

Over the rainbow

For those of you listening along with "Dark Side of the Moon", press play... now!

Monster hunt

He should've packed more caffeine into that cooler...

On a side note...
Check out "Housepets!", a great webcomic by Rick Griffin. His computer was down, so
I sent him a guest strip that he posted here.
(May want to right click, and open in new window. My blog set-up is not the best.)

Troop surge

At least they didn't bring the torches and catapults this time!
Flashback to here for the last squirrel attack.

Don't forget! Happy Father's Day this weekend! (Hi Dad!)

Oops, she did it again...

Sleeping skunk technique. If used properly... no can defend.

Friday, May 22, 2009

Bark at the Moon

Some times you just need to vent. Even if the only one to hear you is the moon.

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Heavy on the rum

Alright! Got our potted spotted skunk up in her full shaded glory now.

Friday, May 15, 2009

Do you like pina coladas?

...and getting sprayed in the face?

Nothing like a drunk skunk on your first date.

Sorry, but I didn't get this week's strip colored in time. I'll put the full version up later this weekend.

Don't forget to breath!

Was I really that nervous on my first date? Been so long ago, I hardly remember.

I do vaguely recollect wearing a sweatshirt with a penguin on it...

Edit: I almost forgot to mention!

This Saturday (May 2nd) is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!
Be sure to check out your local comic shop for free promotional comics and other sweet give aways. How cool is that?!

Plug your zip code into the "Shop Locator" on the FCBD site to find a participating shop near you.

I'll be hitting my favorite local shop for sure: Universe of Superheroes

Can't... hold it... IN...

Ahhh.... remember those days?

Been awhile, but I still do. Blissful nervous giddyness...

Friday, April 17, 2009

Yes! Score!

Wha?? Cody just got a... date?!

I'm not sure who's more excited about it, him or Navarre.

Friday, April 10, 2009

Have a great Easter weekend!

I couldn't come up with anything witty for Easter, so I just got downright silly.

I always enjoyed those comic book covers with the heroes lined up on one side and the villains on the other, going head-to-head. So... why not an Easter version? ;)

Happy Easter, all! Have a bunny and a peep!

The li'l town of Asdudi

Cody's been getting the chance to visit Asdudi, the small town of other world refugees from Babe's side of the portal. (Asdudi is Cherokee for "closed door"... I think.)

I realize how odd his tour through the town's drycleaner must look, with the empty skin-like disguises laying about. A town full of animals in disguise will need someone to maintain all of those.

Don't hate me 'cause I'm creepy!

Friday, February 27, 2009

High-fives for all the guys.

Looks like the boys survived the squirrel siege. Time to get back to business "as usual".

Friday, February 13, 2009

Hearts a thumpin' this weekend!

Happy St Valentine's Day!

If you're reading this on Friday, consider it your last reminder to get something for your sweety tomorrow! Remember... when she said, "You don't need to get me anything this year"....
she was lying! Run to the store! Get that last card off the rack! Anything!

Software experiments....please bear with me...

Been trying some different ways of drawing. Instead of going forward, think I stepped back a few. Both in quality and drawing time. *sigh*

Should be back on track with the next strips.

Note to self: Gimp does not play well with my tablet....

New Year off to a good start?

I hope everyone's holidays went well. They're fun while they're happening, but it's still a bit of a relief when they're over. Back to normalcy and looking forward to new, up and coming things.
